We offer our employees:
* Decent salaries
* Great benefits (see below)
* Central London office
* Investment in training, growth, and development
* A share in the business so that everyone can benefit from our success
How we work
We're very much doing full stack development but using best modern technologies and services to ensure we don’t waste time on doing things which have already been done - we want to focus our time on creating something unique.
We have a web interface in React and Typescript, native mobile apps on both Android and iOS, a database using PostgreSQL accessible through a REST API using Python, logging using OpenSearch (with aspirations to start processing that data using machine learning), microprocessors programmed in C++. All our cloud services run on AWS as a serverless architecture but is also just a docker-compose up away from running on our local machines.
You can count on us for proper development processes, with peer review of all code, tests running on every commit, and a single button to release to the cloud. And we supply as much tea and coffee and as many biscuits as it takes to make all this happen.
We're a mixed team from different backgrounds but we all share the belief that the best way to change things is by starting something ourselves. And we have the drive to do it. If an anonymous job in a multinational is not for you and instead you want a role where you can make a significant impact straight away, we'd love to hear from you.
What do Product Test Engineers do?
As a test engineer, you will work in the R&D team alongside the development teams, testing (or trying to break) what they have created. Product quality, alongside innovation, is foremost in our pursuit of delivering the next big thing in the access control and physical security industry. We need to understand the boundaries of technology, pushing it to its limit to maximise its performance. You will be exposed to the complete solution, end-to-end product development lifecycle and external third party technologies, that’s a broad spectrum of network-focused software and hardware! Starting at a high level, you drill down into component-level software to identify bugs and errors, and work alongside the developers to create solutions. So if you like rolling your sleeves up, getting stuck into complex problem solving at a computational level, we are sure you will love this role.
You will become a technical expert using a broad range of skills. Your work will involve:
- Looking for product defects in functional usage, security penetration, through to scalability
- Formulating a test strategy covering a large feature set across a multitude of network topologies
- Input into product design
- Writing automated regression tests
- Simulation of large-scale and long-term usage using stress tools
- Detailed analysis of network traffic for troubleshooting
- Understanding third-party technologies and our interoperability with them
- Championing usability and offering technical advice to the documentation team
- Highlighting the main QA issues
What we’re looking for
- Graduating in the summer of 2025 with a good degree in Computer Science or STEM based subject
- Have excellent A levels (or equivalent)
- Can you demonstrate a real interest in technology/IT/Telecommunications, either through work experience or perhaps a hobby
We are also looking for people who enjoy working in a very fast paced team, enjoy learning something new every day and graduates who are not afraid of taking on responsibility early on in their careers. In return we offer the opportunity to work alongside some of the best engineers in the industry, and to work on some of the most leading edge products anywhere.
To maximise your chance of being invited to interview, make sure to show us evidence on your CV of how you are:
* Interested in solving problems, especially using computers
* Able to take a problem away and motivate yourself to solve it without supervision, but also not afraid to ask questions and seek help when you need to
* Good at taking complicated problems and breaking them down into solvable chunks
Benefits we offer
* Competitive salaries
* Share options
* 25 days holiday
* Long-term income protection insurance
* Life assurance
* Private medical insurance
* Pension scheme
* Cycle to work scheme
* Investment in training, growth, and development
* Your choice of laptop
* Sponsorship of skilled worker visas
